For the first time

Around one to two weeks after your session, you’ll return to Ludere Studio for your private Viewing and Ordering Appointment. This is where you’ll see your portraits for the very first time.

Together we’ll guide you through your collection at a relaxed pace, helping you choose the photographs you love most and how you’d like to display them in your home.

Ludere Studio is conveniently located between Poole and Bournemouth, in Dorset. Our purpose built Portrait Studio welcomes families, babies, expectant parents and pets from across Dorset, Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

We specialise in family photography, baby photography, maternity photography and pet photography, with each portrait experience tailored to you. Whether you’re celebrating a growing family, welcoming a new arrival or capturing the personality of a much loved pet, our purpose built Portrait Studio provides the perfect setting for timeless portraits.

Absolutely. Dogs are always welcome at Ludere Studio. Many families choose to include their dog as part of their family portrait session, and we also offer dedicated pet photography experiences designed around your companion’s unique personality.

We recommend choosing outfits that complement one another rather than matching exactly. Neutral tones and simple, timeless clothing tend to photograph beautifully, while avoiding large logos and busy patterns helps keep the focus on you. Once your session is booked, we’re always happy to offer personalised guidance.

Most portrait sessions last between 45 and 90 minutes, giving everyone plenty of time to settle in without feeling rushed. We work at a relaxed pace, particularly when photographing young children and pets, allowing natural moments to unfold throughout the session.

We usually recommend booking your maternity photography session between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy, when your bump is beautifully defined while you’re still comfortable enough to enjoy the experience.

Every stage is worth celebrating. Newborn portraits are typically photographed within the first two weeks after birth, while older babies create beautiful portraits as they begin smiling, sitting and exploring the world around them. Whatever stage you’re at, we’ll tailor the session to suit your little one.
